Expert Grease Trap Services

Grease Trap or Interceptor work in the same manner.  The concept is to help separate the water from the solids and oil to settle and allow the free flowing water to flow out with as little contamination possible.  You want your grease trap to have enough room to allow the oil to float to the top to separate from the water and enough room on the bottom of the trap to allow the heavier solid to settle.  This will allow the water to flow out the outlet to the sewer with very minimal oil/solids.  Extracting or cleaning out your grease trap on a schedule routine maintenance before your grease trap fills with oil and/or solids helps avoid slow or blockage of water flow.  You will notice there are 2 baffles in the grease trap and this allows the settling of water/oil in the trap.  When your grease trap is cleaned your FOG report will give you a percentage of oil floating and solids on the bottom.  Manufacture of grease trap rule of thumb is to not exceed 20% of total capacity of trap with oil and/or solids to work efficiently.  Proper cleaning includes removal of the baffles and cleaning the inlet and outlet sides of the grease trap.  When replacing or installing a new grease trap ensure the grease trap is fully accessible to remove lid and lift or replace baffles in the grease trap.
